Company turnover UK, £100k to £1m
Every UK company that has disclosed a turnover between £100,000 and £1m in the previous 12 months.
A licensed file covering company identity, classification, registered address, headcount, turnover and balance-sheet movement — current period against prior period, with growth already calculated. Licence the full database, or a single industry, and add monthly updates to keep it current. Need a narrower slice — a single industry, a tighter turnover band, a headcount range? We can scope the file to whatever you need.
One record per company, five groups of fields.
Every row ties a company to its identity, its classification, its headcount and its financial position — current period against prior period, with the percentage change already worked out, so growth is visible without a join.

Every company in the file has disclosed a turnover between £100,000 and £1m in the latest filing. Fixed assets, current assets and cash at bank are populated where reported — a blank usually means the figure wasn't disclosed in the filing, or the company is in its first year of accounts. Growth and change columns are only calculated where both periods are reported, and are expressed as decimals (0.19 = +19%). Examples above are illustrative.
Delivered the way you work.
The dataset is built and hosted on AWS. You choose how it reaches you — a dedicated S3 prefix, a secure download link, an email attachment or a shared cloud-drive folder — all under a direct licence between us, with no third-party marketplace in the middle.
Daily pull
Company filings are pulled from Companies House daily and normalised against the schema — newly filed accounts, updated turnover figures and revised filings are picked up as they land.
Monthly build
On the first business day of each month, the full dataset is compiled into a dated CSV and XLSX export, alongside a checksum manifest for integrity verification, for customers on monthly updates.
Your choice of handoff
Your first delivery is the file you've licensed: the full database or your chosen industry. If you've added monthly updates, a refreshed full file follows every month the same way. You're notified automatically when files are ready.
S3 prefix
A dedicated, encrypted prefix on AWS S3 for your account, with read-only access limited to your own files.
Secure download link
A time-limited signed link to each file, so there are no credentials to hold or set up.
Email attachment
The file sent to your inbox as a CSV attachment, compressed where needed. Best suited to smaller files; if a file is too large for your mail server, we send a signed link instead.
Cloud drive share
A shared cloud-drive folder, set up with you, where each file lands as it's delivered.
S3 access model
Either a scoped IAM user/role limited to your own prefix (read-only, least privilege), or 7-day signed URLs if you'd rather not hold AWS credentials at all.
Encryption
Files held in S3 are encrypted at rest (SSE-S3 or SSE-KMS on request), and every S3 or signed-link download uses TLS in transit.
S3 versioning
Bucket versioning is enabled — every monthly drop is retained under its own dated folder, nothing is overwritten.
File formats
UTF-8 CSV for pipelines, formatted XLSX for analysts, plus a SHA-256 manifest so you can confirm the file arrived intact.
S3 notification
An email (or SNS topic, on request) fires the moment a new month's files land in your prefix.
Why not Marketplace
This is a direct annual licence, not a metered listing — no revenue share, no usage metering, and terms set between us rather than a third party.
Monthly updates
Your licence delivers one annual file. To keep it current, add monthly updates: a refreshed full file each month, delivered by the method you chose. Or reorder the whole file at any time to receive the latest data. £200 a month for a single industry, £400 a month for the full database. See pricing below.
Most company data files are 30% graveyard — dissolved businesses, phantom employers, headcounts from three years ago. Staff Data solved that for us. Every record is an active UK company that's genuinely employing, with year-on-year headcount you can actually trust, and the monthly refresh means it stays that way. Being able to scope the file to a specific staff band or sector saves us cleaning and filtering on our end. Straightforward to deal with, and the product does exactly what it says.
Licence the file, then add updates if you need them.

Before you ask
Where does the underlying data come from?
Company filings held at Companies House, published under the Open Government Licence. What you're licensing here is the extraction, structuring, and period-on-period calculation layered on top, delivered on a fixed monthly schedule.
Which companies are included?
Companies that have disclosed a turnover between £100,000 and £1m in their latest filing within the previous 12 months. Companies above £1m are on our £1m+ turnover page. Companies that don't disclose turnover — many small companies file abridged accounts — aren't in the file.
Why do some fields have blanks?
Fixed assets, current assets and cash at bank are populated where reported. A blank usually means the figure wasn't disclosed in that filing, or the company is in its first year of accounts. Growth columns are only calculated where both periods are reported.
Why not deliver through AWS Marketplace?
Marketplace suits metered, self-serve products. This is an annual licence with optional monthly files. We deliver by S3, secure download link, email or a shared cloud drive, so you get the same AWS-hosted data without marketplace fees or listing overhead.
Can we get historical months?
Yes — past monthly snapshots are available outside the standard tier. Get in touch and we'll scope it against what you need.
What happens if a filing is corrected after delivery?
Corrections are picked up in the next daily extract and reflected in the following month's file for customers on monthly updates. Each monthly export is a full snapshot, not an incremental diff, so you always have the complete current picture.
